Meet the AW team

He runs the business, the everyday running of the workshop, he will probably be the one who will greet you upon entering the office and will be all to happy to help with whatever enquiry you may have.

Meet Alex, the managing Director.

A little background about the company

AW Smart Repairs is a family run business that has been trading since 2002 and is located on Seven Acres Business Park in Waldringfield, just outside Woodbridge / Ipswich.

When Alex started out in 2002 he specialised in windscreen stone chip repairs, driving around Suffolk and Essex in his little Peugeot 205 van!

Very soon after the business had started, Alex built a relationship with some great customers and was becoming well known within the motor trade. He then decided to embark on some training courses in interior trim repairs and had to purchase a slightly larger vehicle, a Mondeo Estate. This was the next step forward for his business.

After some years when the business was better established, Alex decided to take further steps and set up AW Smart Repairs, now specialising in windscreen stone chip repairs, interior trim, seat and bodywork repairs. As the business grew further, his wife Kerry came on board managing the accounts, administration and website.

We have very recently had a new spray booth installed by Haltec, it allows us to take on much larger repairs and full resprays. So as you can imagine we are all very excited as this is a big step forwards for us. The booth is up and running now and we are absolutely delighted with the quality of work we can achieve with it.

We would not of been able to complete our project without receiving a grant through New Anglia Small Grant Scheme (this is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund). So we want to thank them for helping us fund a new spray booth and paint scheme.

It soon became apparent that there was a need in the market for smart express repairs on a larger scale, so Alex decided to employ two other members of staff and move to bigger, more professional premises. The business then became a limited company and installed a specialist spray booth enabling the business to take on more in depth, larger repairs. This has then led to us being able to  take on vehicle customisation, something the team very much enjoys getting involved in.

Over the past five years the business has grown and now has a fantastic team on board. Our attention to detail and high quality workmanship are what stands us out from the rest.
